Group Leader, PhD
I am a cancer computational biologist with a strong interdisciplinary background, holding a BSc in Computer Science, an MSc in Computational Biology, and a PhD in Biomedicine (2016) from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) in Barcelona. During my postdoctoral research at IRB Barcelona (with Nuria López-Bigas) and UMC Utrecht (with Prof. Edwin Cuppen), I conducted extensive cancer genomics studies, yielding critical insights into cancer drivers, metastasis, and immune escape mechanisms.

In February 2023, I established the Computational Immunogenomics Lab at VHIO. Our lab focuses on large-scale computational analyses to decode the complex interplay between tumor evolution and the immune system. We work closely with the Hartwig Medical Foundation, aiming to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment for patients.

Beyond my research, I really enjoy mountains, trail running and reading about different topics including anthropology, geopolitics and meteorology!
