About Natasa

PhD student

After obtaining my Bachelor degree in Biology from the University of Novi Sad in Serbia, my home country, I decided to continue my education in the field of bioinformatics which brought me to Barcelona in 2021. I completed Master in Bioinformatics for Health Sciences at University Pompeu Fabra. In January 2024 I started working as a support investigator in Computational Immunogenomics lab.

I decided to pursue PhD studies in this group and develop my thesis around the topic of cancers of unknown primary (CUP), a metastatic disease in which the primary tumor cannot be identified. By looking for the clues hidden in the whole genome and transcriptome sequencing data of hundreds of CUP patients, we aim to learn how genetic adaptations and the interactions between cancer cells and the immune system allow CUP tumors to hide their identity.

Besides bioinformatics, I am a passionate board game player and collector. I am also interested in design and love crafting things!
