About Adrián
Bioinformatician
I studied Biochemistry at Complutense University of Madrid and obtained my MSc in Pharmacological research at Autonomous University of Madrid. After completing my master's degree, I moved to Heidelberg (Germany) to do a research internship as part of the Erasmus+ programme. I spent a year as an intern at the BioMed X Institute and then became a full-time research assistant, working mainly in the wet lab and in computational flow cytometry. After two years, I decided to shift my career path to the field of bioinformatics, so I started a master's degree in Bioinformatics and Statistics at the Open University of Catalonia. At the beginning of 2025, I joined Julio Sáez Rodríguez's laboratory at Heidelberg University for a seven-month internship to apply deep learning methods to raw proteomic data.
In October 2025 I joined the Computational Immunogenomics group at VHIO as a research assistant bioinformatician, where I work in the identification of malignant cells from single cell data.
In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, playing volleyball and doing outdoors activities in general. I also like cooking and going for a hike on the weekends.
